I lived in Houston, TX for nearly a decade and as I fell in love with that city, ingratiated myself in the music and art scene I found myself sketching notable places, personas and sayings.

Soon I found myself with a sketchbook of treasures and looking at them sparked the idea in me to make an in app sticker set for Houston related hijinks and feelings dubbed HOUmoji. (This was the height of specialized emojis, re: KIMOJI).

I hoped it would make my friends and peers at work laugh but when I posted a few of them on twitter and instagram I found myself getting phone calls from the Houston Chronicle, Houstonia Magazine and an invitation to speak on Houston Matters radio, a local subset of PBS and NPR.

It was an interesting little chapter in my early design life. Here, enjoy the spoils of HOUmoji!
